LOREZ BAILEY
Lorez Bailey is the founder and principal of Lorez Bailey Consulting, where she serves as a trusted strategic advisor to nonprofit, civic, and community-based organizations navigating growth, transition, and complexity. Her work focuses on strengthening leadership, aligning organizational systems, and building cultures where people feel valued and able to do their best work.
Often referred to as “The Connector,” Lorez is known for her ability to build trust, foster collaboration, and bring together diverse stakeholders across sectors. Her career has been rooted in workforce development, youth engagement, education, and the systems that support strong, resilient communities.
With more than two decades of experience across nonprofit leadership, media, workforce development, and community engagement, Lorez brings a rare blend of systems thinking and practical execution. She previously served as Publisher of the North Bay Business Journal and has contributed to outlets including The Community Voice, Press Democrat, Youth News, and Channel 50. She was part of a delegation providing direct support to communities in Altadena and the Palisades following the Los Angeles wildfires, drawing on her deep understanding of disaster recovery and community resilience.
Her professional leadership includes serving as Executive Director of Chop’s Teen Club, where she oversaw a state-of-the-art facility and high-impact mentorship programs, and as Director of College and Career Readiness at Social Advocates for Youth, where she strengthened college and career pathways, work-based learning, and Career Technical Education programs. Earlier in her career, she led Adult and Youth Employment Services for West County Community Services.
Deeply engaged in civic life, Lorez currently serves on the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Senate appointee and on several nonprofit and advisory boards, including the 10,000 Degrees Sonoma County Advisory Board, the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center Program Advisory Board, and the Leadership Santa Rosa Steering Committee..
In 2019, during Women’s History Month, Lorez was honored as Woman of the Year by U.S. Congressman Mike Thompson in recognition of her long-standing advocacy for youth and her leadership in preparing young people for the demands of the 21st-century economy.
